While the Internet is a source for information and knowledge, it contains many websites not for children. When a young person is surfing the Internet they can accidentally come across content that was meant for adults.

There are parental controls that can be set up to keep young people away from these sites and help protect them while on the Internet.

How to use parental controls

Setting up parental controls is as easy as a couple of clicks. For people that use Internet explorer all they have to do is click on the tools tab. When this opens they should click on content.

The content advisor heading will appear and the parent should select enable. Once clicked, a list of categories will come up. A parent is then able to check the content they do not want displayed.

This includes website that may contain drug use, alcohol use, pornography or nudity, violence, and foul language. A parent can also set how restricted they want the control to be. See More information here.

This can block mild sites or all websites with this content. The parent can then set a password to make sure these settings are not changed.

Additional security

In addition to blocking these websites an adult needs to speak to their child about Internet usage. They should talk to them about the dangers that can be found online and to never give out personal information.

Sites such as Facebook, or chatrooms, should be carefully monitored or restricted by parents.

The 2012 San Diego Comic Con is history and fans of comic book conventions are already looking forward to 2013. If you did not attend the event in 2012 and are on the fence about 2013, all you really need to do is look at what you missed. Once you do, you definitely will start booking your travel arrangements to visit this awesome comic con this year.

Without a doubt, the Iron Man 3 Q&A panel was a huge highlight. Writer/Director Shane Black gave many insights into what fans can look forward to when the new film arrives in theaters.

In addition to the displays of new, cutting edge comic art, incredible rare classic comic art was on display. Many fans were able to see these drawings for the first time in their original format.

The icon himself, William Shatner was on hand to promote his new documentary. The film is titled, appropriately enough, ”Get a Life.”

Peter Jackson revealed very surprising information about the new Hobbit film.

Of course, Marvel and DC Comics offered insights into the cool and original plot twists many legendary characters will be going through in their monthly titles and on the silver screen in film adaptations.

Seriously, the 2012 San Diego Comic Con was just as fun as all other prior years. If you missed it, you really did miss out.
Take a look here to learn more: Oz Comic-Con

“Iron Sky” is a movie with a unique premise in which Nazis have a presence on the moon after they secretly undertake space travel to the moon from a hidden area on Anatarctica. It’s taken five years to finally complete the film thanks to the input of fans and especially because of Geek support. The only reason that “Iron Sky,” a true labor of love, actually made it to the theaters for an extended run is because of the great show of support from the devoted fans who were intent on seeing the film come to fruition. While this film revolves around an American landing on the moon, awakening the secret military base created by the Nazis, and then gives a great deal of attention to America, it has had a great reception in Europe. Made in Finland, broadcast fittingly at the Berlin International Film Festival in April of 2012, it made its first run in Germany of all places. From there, it had great popularity in England and other surrounding countries all due to the outpouring of love from the geeks who were crazy about the concept of this film from the beginning. It has quite a European impact.

For busy individuals, a laptop makes a great alternative to a desktop. However, the computer technology is constantly evolving and improving, providing newer and more exciting features. In this regard, many laptop owners are trying their best to keep up with the technology.

Even though a laptop’s performance is usually lower compared to a desktop computer, a laptop owner can always make upgrades that can match the desktop’s capabilities. Yet, most laptops are not equipped to deal with extra computer accessories and parts. Thus, many laptop owners need to purchase some features that can operate specific programs in the future.

When considering a laptop upgrade, owners need a precise approach especially when it comes to compatibility and acceptable components. Keeping up with the newest laptop can be a costly endeavor. However, regular upgrades to your laptop can also be a valid compromise and still can be very pricey. If your laptop is still functioning but you need an upgrade, the best option is to sell it and purchase a new one. It will provide you with additional cash and justifies the upgrade that you really want. A fresh and new laptop comes with components that are latest in the computer technology.

For a period of his career, Bruce Willis was widely regarded as one of the top stars in the science fiction drama. During the 1990s and 2000s he starred in several science fiction films including 12 Monkeys, the Fifth Element, and Armageddon. Since then he has largely be involved in action and drama roles, but now appears set to return to science fiction.

In September of 2012, the science fiction film Looper will be released in theaters across the country. Bruce Willis will take on a starring role in this film along with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Emily Blunt. The movie will take place in the futuristic year of 1942 where Gordon Levitt will star as a “Looper”, which is an individual that kills assassins that have come back in time from the year 1972.

In this time traveling film, Gordon Levitt eventually attacks one of the time travelers, who is played by Bruce Willis. Gordon Levitt’s character soon realizes that the man he has shot is actually himself from the future. The film, which had an initial budget of over $60 million, is widely expected to be one of the highest grossing films of the fall film season.

Whom can forget the awesome experience of watching the great Sci-Fi action movie “Total Recall” when it first came out in 1990 with the legendary “The Terminator” star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, as the hero?

Many a fan were at war with themselves when they had heard of the upcoming remake of this cult classic. On one hand, they were thrilled that it would be re-done with today’s technology, yet, on the other hand, how dare anyone mess with perfection?

Seems the fans will not be disappointed. The new re-make will keep the same characters, but, will remain here on a futuristic Earth and not sully the Mars version one bit. Indeed, with a new cast and new screenplay, this could have come from ReKall itself, with unlimited possibilities of a dream “vacation” for everyone whom desires political intrigue as a secret agent without having to spend unlimited time away from home to do so.

The trailer entices us with Colin Farrell, as Doug Quaid/Hauser, as he gets ready at a ReKall dream vacation lab and exciting action shots of what occurs when Douglas Quaid finds out reality isn’t what he always thought it was.

Due to be released August 3, 2012, this is one “re-make” that will have everyone asking for more.

The Prometheus cinematography creates a stunning backdrop for often bad and sometimes painful dialogue. If you never want to tie Charlie up and leave him for some future xenomorph to snack on, then you are probably more tolerant than at least half the audience members.

Some Prometheus plot points are numbingly bad. From clichés like a scientist trying to pet an alien to impossibilities like the lack of physical repercussions following abortion auto-surgery, some scenes may make you wonder why you’re not storming out of the theater to demand your money back, as well as a refund on any future Ridley Scott film you may see.

Finally, there is the religious/anti-religious message of this film. Yes, it’s there and yes, it’s intentional. If you don’t like films with messages challenging Christian theology, then this film is not for you.

If you’re not a fan of the existing Alien franchise or are a franchise fan willing to enjoy the scenery and ignore changes made to the Alien prehistory, then you may enjoy this film. It may not be worth sitting through the whole movie for the last few minutes, but it’s well worth trying.
